Originally featured in Harry Craddocks famous 'The Savoy Cocktail Book' of 1930. A quote in the book says about this cocktail:

"So called because it will either cure Rattlesnake bite, or kill Rattlesnakes, or make you see them".

Method

The recipe here uses 2 egg whites, and a 4 to 1 ratio of rye whiskey to sweetened lemon juice. Shake all the ingredients with ice until thoroughly mixed and chilled, before straining through a fine sieve into a lowball glass.
